Jurassic Landing

Life-sized inflatable dinosaur sculptures installed as a walk-through themed zone at a regional amusement park.

Project Overview

Jurassic Landing wanted to add a temporary immersive zone without the cost and permitting of permanent fiberglass sculptures. The brief called for a herd of life-sized inflatable dinosaurs — towering T-Rex, grazing brachiosaurus, and a pack of raptors — that guests could walk between and photograph. The sculptures were built on a heavy-duty PVC bladder with a brushed oxford skin dyed in deep reptilian greens and browns. Hidden anchor points kept each figure stable in the park's open plaza, and internal blowers maintained pressure silently so the zone stayed immersive. Within the first month the dinosaur zone became the park's most photographed area, prompting the client to extend the run and commission two additional species for the following season.

Production Timeline

1

Concept & Sculpts

Paleo artists referenced museum specimens to sculpt accurate silhouettes, then produced 3D models sized to the park's plaza footprint.

2

Production & Anchoring

Each figure was built on a PVC bladder with an oxford skin and load-tested ground anchors tuned to the plaza's paver layout.

3

Install & Launch

A four-person crew installed the full herd overnight, and the zone opened to guests the next morning with no visible construction痕迹.

Campaign Results

The dinosaur zone became the park's top-rated attraction within 30 days and added two new species to the next season's order.

Guests genuinely gasped walking under the brachiosaurus. It became the photo everyone posted — our Google review average jumped half a star.
